The bright autumn yellows of the smaller trees contrast with the dark colour of the evergreen black spruces.

Again, it's just like fire - as if the sunlight that shone on the leaves all summer long was being returned to the sky.

 

Here's Julie, my traveling companion.

The rest area at the Broadback River, where we camped for one night on our way home.

It poured rain all night, so we were serenaded by the gentle sounds of rain pattering on the tent.

You're not really allowed to camp at these rest areas, but it was late, and we were exhausted.
